Current issue at hand: External PSC and VCSA's have to be running for Simplivity deployment to take place. The MVA is a VM running on the Simplivity cluster, is managed by Simplivity and is linked to 1 vCenter server. The MVA is deployed during the initial installation of the first Simplivity cluster. The MVA VM is HA-protected and does not contain stateful information (ephemeral). HPE SimpliVity now supports vSphere 7.0 The latest OmniStack version adds vSphere 7.0 and vCenter 7.0 support. Please refer to VMware documentation to find out more about the benefits of vSphere 7.
The SimpliVity Federation is all the SimpliVity systems managed by a common vCenter infrastructure (which could be one or many vCenters), sharing a common authentication domain/source. So, it could be as small as a single node with a single vCenter. Or it could comprise many clusters across multiple vCenters - but they must be in Linked Mode.

HPE SimpliVity 380 System Administration (VMware) In this video two VMware Engineers will discuss VMware vCenter Server Linked Mode which is new with VMware vSphere. vCenter linked mode (with external vCenters) is not yet supported with VxRail Manager plugin.
The HPE SimpliVity platform through interacting with vCenter Tasks and Events will generate an event and remediation steps directing you to which nodes contain a copy of the Virtual Machine data. In the below diagram I have highlighted the “Data access is not optimized” event that directs the user to v-motion the VM to the outlined hosts.
Atera includes everything MSPs and IT Pros need in one place. Watch later. Share. Copy link. HPE SimpliVity DVP is flexible as long as DVP traffic is passing through a 10GbE link, directly or switch-connected hosts and located in the same vSphere cluster, OVC and ESXi are available to each other and can access the vCenter Server managing the vSphere cluster. The current way of communication between the Simplivity nodes and the Omnistack Virtual Controllers running on it is using peer to peer communication inside a Simplivity cluster. Large scale deployments, like the (current) maximum of 96 nodes in a so called Federation would require 3 vCenter servers in Linked Mode.

If a new vCenter need to be redeployed into linked mode, make sure all the existing vCenter First step is to install a supported version of vCenter to ensure compatability with the 3.7.10 software. Question: Do you also have linked mode vCenters? If so, does each linked mode vCenter manage SimpliVity nodes, or are there vCenters that manage clusters that do not contain SimpliVity nodes also? Thanks, DeclanOR vCenter Enhanced Linked Mode allows you to log in to any single instance of vCenter Server and view and manage the inventories of all the vCenter Server systems in the group.

Upgrade SimpliVity vCenter plugin Run Upgrade Manager to upgrade SimpliVity from 3.X.X to 4.0.0 At this point if you have properly staged everything in the prerequisites (Gen 10 firmware ,ESXi bundle) and done steps 1, 2 and 3 you should not have any problems. For customer with multiple HyperFlex clusters and vCenter servers, VMware enhanced linked mode could be considered to reduce the management effort. This post is to high light a few points when configuring Cisco HyperFlex with VMware vCenter enhanced linked mode. If you plan to use Enhanced Linked Mode, you must install the same version of HPE SimpliVity Plug-in for vSphere Web Client on each server running vCenter Server to access the HPE SimpliVity options.
The VMware clone is still your only way to clone to other (non-omnicube) datastores and your only way to customize during the clone. At our secondary site we have a windows 5.1 Vcenter instance.
